Radio Equipment Directive Update Proposed by European Commission

The number of mobile devices and wireless applications has grown over the years and continues to show potential for further innovation and expansion. However, with the increase in applications comes the risk of interferences between devices. The European Commission has proposed to update the Radio and Telecommunications Terminal Equipment Directive (1999/5/EC). The proposal aims to make sure all market players comply with avoidance of interference rules. In addition, The Commission has proposed to clarify and simplify the Directive.

For more information on the Commission’s proposal, see Directive review.
