IPC Sets Up Web-based Clearinghouse for Conflict Mineral Supply Chain Statements

Provisions in Section 1502 of the 2010 Dodd-Frank Wall Street Reform and Consumer Protection Act require publicly traded companies to report on the origin of tin, tantalum, gold and tungsten — conflict minerals — in their products.  Many OEM companies and EMS companies are already working toward ensuring their supply chains are compliant with the upcoming regulations. We expect these data requests to quickly move through the entire supply chain, like RoHS did, only faster.

To assist our members and the industry in assessing their conflict minerals status, IPC is setting up a web-based clearinghouse for supply chain statements on conflict minerals. To post a conflict minerals statement on IPC’s conflict minerals resources webpage, contact Fathima Hussain, IPC manager of industry programs. IPC members will be able to link back to their company websites from this page.
